I joined Hallinans in October 2024 and am very excited to be part of the team. I have worked in a number of different criminal defence firms and feel really at home in the Hallinans’ workplace, which is reflective of how I aim to be: calm, capable, professional and innovative.
I have been qualified for 25 years and through the years, I have seen a lot of change in both the way I work and the Criminal Justice System at large.
I did not plan to go into law and after my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Newcastle University I had no idea what I wanted to do. It was only after a work experience placement in a high street Legal Aid firm in East London that I realised this was the right career for me. I can honestly say that I have loved (almost) every minute of it and feel it is a privilege of a job that has enabled me to see so much about people and circumstances and how the two are interrelated.
I take my responsibility in acting for people going through the criminal justice system very seriously. It is extremely important to me that I do the best I possibly can for everyone I represent. I pride myself on my professionalism and take great satisfaction in the results I achieve.
I represent people from all walks of life and across the length and breath of criminal allegations.
I recently spent a few years teaching on the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law alongside my practice, which was an excellent experience and really invigorated return to full time practice this year.
I have a passionate interest in improving the chances for rehabilitation of offenders. I am a qualified Restorative Justice Facilitator and Co-Founder and Director of The Big Simple, a Community Interest Company delivering mental wellbeing workshops to disadvantaged individuals and groups.
